Close Protection Training
Close protection training can be your key to a career that offers just about anything. From the excitement, challenges, some risks, the paid expenses and of course the satisfaction of protecting the VIPs- these are just some of the reasons why people take up a career in close protection.
Close protection training is designed to equip you with the skills that will enable you to enjoy a successful career as a bodyguard. However, before signing up to your chosen course, you need to be sure that you are working the right training center. Therefore, here are four key questions that you need to ask before settling for a close protection training center.
i. How much operational experience do your instructors have?
This is one of the most crucial things that you need to consider when choosing your close protection training center. Naturally, trainers who have been in the industry for several years offering protection to high profile clients will be able to offer you sufficient information based on their experience. Be sure to find centers that are run by instructors who have walked the talk. These are the people who can offer the right kind of training to you.
ii. How many trainees are registered for each course?
This is another crucial thing that you need to consider before choosing your close protection training center. Find out the size of the class and the number of instructors available for each student. Smaller classes with more instructors per student are the best option as this will enable you to get the desired attention during your training.
iii. Do your instructors have any training experience?
It is one thing to have an operational experience and the other to have a training experience. It is vital that you check the level of training experience held by your instructors. Instructors who have been in the field offering close protection training for several years are better placed to deliver everything you need to know to succeed with your course and get your qualification.
iv. Can instructors provide testimonials from previous students?
The best way to learn more about the quality of close protection training offered by a particular center is to ask former students about their training experience with the center. A good training center should also be happy to provide testimonials from previous students.
Several can make being a bodyguard your perfect job. However, even though you may have the right physique and mind frame that fits the profession, you also have to undergo a rigorous training before getting your license. Some of the things that you should expect as part of your training include:
a. Physical activity
A close protection training program will put you through a lot of physical drills. Therefore, you need to be in a good physical condition in order to pass your training.
b. Theory.
Alongside the physical activity, you will need to be able to switch back into the learning mode since the training comes with a lot of theory work. As such, be prepared to hit the books as part of your training program.
c. Tough situations
As a bodyguard, there will be a time during your practice when all you will have are seconds to make a critical decision. During your training, you will have to demonstrate that you can deal with any situation. This will range from strategy and planning to sound driving skills.
Conclusion
Getting the right close protection training is a crucial part of becoming a professional bodyguard. As such, you need to make the right decision when it comes to the choice of your training center. GSS offers quality close protection training that will enable you to start a successful career as a professional and certified bodyguard.
